New Red Light Laws

Many streets have seen changes and upgrades to the red lights hanging throughout intersections.  With the installation of red light cameras, drivers are more at risk for being caught speeding through the lights and now the fines are more than double, reaching $158 per violation.  The steep price tag, one of the highest in the country, will force drivers to think twice before ignoring existing traffic laws.  The new law will took effect on July 1, 2010 and is driving even more counties and cities to add red light cameras in hopes of reducing the number of traffic infractions and accidents that occur because drivers ignore the red light glaring at them.
